FAQS

Modular Wall Kits FAQ

What is the difference between “Freestanding” and “Mounted” wall kits?
Freestanding Wall Kits stand securely on their own without the need for attachment to your existing walls, leaving no marks when removed. Anchor panels at each end provide stability.

Mounted Wall Kits are secured to your existing walls using the included mounting brackets and a few screws on each end. This option provides maximum stability, making it ideal for more permanent or secure installations.

I don’t find my dimensions? Can you do custom orders?
Yes, we offer custom orders with width and depth options in 3-inch increments and height options in 1-foot increments, up to a maximum of 10 feet. Please fill out our Custom Order Form, and we’ll provide a free custom quote within 24 hours. Alternatively, you can contact us by email, phone, or chat for assistance.

Can I place the door where I want?
By default, doors are placed in the most economical position. If you have a preference, let us know, and we can check if it’s possible with your dimensions or arrange a custom order. Please note that doors need at least 1 foot of wall panel on each side.

What do I need to assemble my kit?
You’ll need a drill and screwdriver to attach the wall mounting bracket and the accordion door frame to the panels. For freestanding walls, only a screwdriver or drill is needed to attach the door. No other tools are required.

I have trim/baseboards along my wall. Can I still mount to my existing walls?
Yes! Our wall mounting brackets are 3”x3”, so as long as your trim or baseboards are no wider than 1 inch, you can still mount the walls. Keep in mind, there will be a gap the size of your trim or baseboard between the existing walls and your new Diyversify walls.

What screws do I need for the mounting brackets?
The type of screw depends on the material you’re attaching to. For drywall & wood, use #2 drywall screws or self-tapping machine screws. For concrete or masonry, you’ll need specialized fasteners. For our modular wall panels, general construction screws longer than 1.25” will suffice.

Can the walls be installed on carpet floors?
Yes, our wall kits should work well on carpeted floors as long as the carpet is not high-piled. Lower-pile carpets provide a more stable base for the walls, ensuring proper installation and stability.

Can I hang art or install shelves on the walls?
Yes, the panels are strong enough to hang pictures, paintings, and even decorative shelves, making them great for gallery or display walls. You can drill into the panels for mounting screws or use wire loops around lugs at the top of the wall. However, avoid heavy or far-projecting items, like large sculptures or animal busts, to prevent a weight imbalance.

Are the walls soundproof?
The panels have a Noise Reduction Coefficient of about 0.5, reducing sound by around 50%. However, most sound transmission occurs due to the gap between the wall panels and the ceiling.

What can I do to cover the gap between the wall and the ceiling?
We don’t recommend covering the gap, as it allows for proper airflow and ensures your smoke detectors function correctly. However, if you’d like to minimize it, you can place foam blocks or similar materials on top of the wall. The wall is 3 inches thick, providing a flat surface for this.

Can I paint or apply wallpaper to the panels?
We don’t recommend painting the panels as the surface isn’t ideal for paint adhesion. However, adhesive-backed wallpaper is a great option for adding color or texture. To avoid visible seams, we suggest applying construction seaming tape over panel seams before adding wallpaper.

How are the Modular Wall Kits shipped?
Our modular wall kits are shipped via freight on a pallet and delivered curbside. You’ll be contacted to schedule a delivery window, and a signature is required upon delivery. Accessories may arrive separately as regular parcels. You’ll be responsible for moving the panels inside and disposing of the packaging and pallet.

I’m renting. Am I allowed to install a Partition Wall in my home?
This depends on the agreements with your landlord. Different areas have different regulations regarding modifications to a home. We recommend contacting your local bylaw office or landlord association for guidance.

How are your products priced?
Our Kits are proudly designed and manufactured in the USA, which ensures top quality. While the cost may be higher than traditional construction, our modular system can be moved, reused, and reconfigured, providing a lifetime of value.

Why not just build a regular frame wall?
Building a regular wall requires carpentry skills, tools, permits, and permanent alterations to your home. In contrast, our modular walls can be disassembled, moved, and repurposed, making them a flexible, cost-effective solution for those who want to avoid the hassle and expense of traditional construction.

Do you offer installation?
Our wall kits and room dividers are designed and curated for easy DIY assembly! We provide step-by-step PDF and video guides, and most customers complete the installation in just a few hours. If you need help, we’re available for remote assembly support from 9 AM to 5 PM, Monday to Friday (EST).
